Took my breath away
I bought 2 tickets about 4 months ago not knowing who I would go with because I know none of my friends enjoy opera. But regardless, I knew that I HAD to go to this concert based on what I've heard about his live performances and what I've seen on PBS. There were countless times where I just sat there, closed my eyes, and his voice literally took my breath away and brought water to my eyes. He had one violinist who was incredible, she had a gypsy, middle-eastern sound about her music during her solo. He sang duets with a few different talented ladies (don't know their names). He sang Christmas carols in English and Italian, even had kids come on stage to sing with him! Each time the clapping got louder, he came back for another song. It was unreal! I've never heard people scream and clap so loud for one person before in my life! He sang his most popular songs, too. I was so glad I went, it was one of the best shows, out of hundreds, that I've been to. I have a few of his CD's and even though I wasn't originally a huge fan, I can honestly say after going to the show that my mind has been changed. And I ended up bringing a date with me who also thoroughly enjoyed the performance, so it was a win win situation. Would I go again? You can bet your bum I will.
